Books read in 2010 and top ten

In 2010 I joined a book challenge to read a certain amount of books in the year I said I would read 66 but I was happy to read 103 Christian fiction in 2010

Picking a top ten is very hard so in no particular order here is my top ten reads.

Catching Moondrops by Jennifer Erin Valent

A Daughter's Legacy by Virginia Smith

Finding Jenna by Miralee Ferrell

The Protector by Carla Capshaw

Victory Song by Jeri Doner

McKenzie by Penny Zeller

Surrender the Heart by Mary Lu Tyndall

The Rancher’s Promise by Jillian Hart
and His Holiday Bride by Jillian Hart (read these together and including them as one read.)

Wildflower Bride by Mary Connealy

The Crimson Cipher by Susan Page Davis

There were many others I really enjoyed and it was hard to pick a top 10 a couple are on the list because they touched me and I got a glimpse into the way life was. Catching moondrops was one of these. I also notice most of my top reads were historical. I couldn't split Jillian Harts books as they are part of a series and I read them together. They have some recurring characters in an secondary story I love. I love anything Mary Connealy and Mary Lu Tyndall write. Victory Song is a different story its the account of a troop in the civil war and to me I found it interesting reading the story and learning more of the history.

I was hoping to finish The Voyage of Promise by Kay Marshall Strom but still have over 100 pages to read. It would have topped the list as the book has so much history in it and the heroine is the daughter of a black princess in Africa and a white Slaver. She is neither white or black but in book 2 she is living with the africans and then becomes a slave and torn away from her husband. I have cried over this book at some of the atrocities that happened to the people and it gives an insight how slavery was justified. Its set around the time where English parliament was discussing slavery.
I am sure this will be a top read of 2011.
