Ausjenny update and Happy Birthday

Today is my birthday and thought a good time to update you on me. Its almost 5 weeks since I had surgery for the Gall bladder. I Saw my Dr and the specialist last week and all is looking good except one of the incision wounds. It is a little infected so am on antibiotics for that. It figures I can't do anything the easy way. It is clearing up which is great.

I can't believe how different I feel now its out. I was worried when I couldn't walk more than about 15 mins without feeling exhausted. I was also having to rest up to 4 times a day. If I did more than an hour of work I was exhausted and would nap for up to 2 hours. I was feeling a little sick most of the time and just not well.

I can now walk over an hour in the mornings without being exhausted. I have also had lights fitted to my bike and started riding this week. I will ride some mornings then do a short walk. I hope to slowly build up the ride so can ride one morning and walk the next. The only issue is that sunrise is later each day. The wrist also needs to build up strength as riding does put more pressure on it.

I feel so much better than last year and each day is getting better. Once the infection clears up I am sure I will feel even better.

Today I am turning 50 which at one stage would have been a little depressing but I am looking at it as a new start. As I thought I would be just out of hospital and not able to do anything to celebrate my birthday I came up with the idea to create a memory album. I have had people send me a memory, note or birthday blessing and photo to add to my album so I would have something positive to enjoy while I was recuperating. I have been humbled by some of the notes I received. Its humbling to find how something that comes naturally can have a huge impact on others. I have had fun putting the album together and still have a few late messages to add.

Today I am going out for morning tea with some friends and have a special friend and her husband coming from away for a birthday tea. I feel blessed and looking forward to a great day.

It's so good that they were able to do the surgery with enough time for you to recover to such an extent before your birthday. I hope it's a great one.

Thanks everyone for the comments. its been a great day today. I feel blessed.
I also feel so much better. I still have the headaches or Occipital Neuralgia and while I thought it was easing I can see its now back to where it was before the surgery. We lowered the dose and the pain has been higher the past couple of days than its been for a while. if its still this high tomorrow will up the evening meds tomorrow night.
but on a whole I feel wonderful. (tired but good)
