Getting to know you with Noelle Marchland

Please join me in welcoming Noelle Marchand to my blog. (Noelle was due to be here last week but as you can see from my notes I was behind and sick) Its good to have Noelle here today. I have gotten to know her through Goodreads LIH group. (a wonderful group).

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Last month, I graduated from college with a BA in Mass Communications and in Speech Communications. I’ve been trying to write books since I was a kid, succeeded the first time when I was fifteen, and haven’t stopped since. I love chocolate, movies from the golden age of Hollywood, and reading good books.

2. When you were a child did you have a favourite book or books?
I loved the Little House on the Prairie series! (Jenny here I did too. read them over and over)

3. Do you have a favourite Genre to both read and right write?
Christian Historical Romance is qualifies as both. I love romantic stories filled with adventure and faith. Those are the kind of books I like to read and write.

4. Did you have favourite authors growing up who have influenced you?
Janette Oak introduced me to the world of Christian Romance with a little help from Grace Livingston Hill. Once I started writing Lori Copland, Linda Windsor, Catherine Palmer, and Denise Hunter became some of my influencers. (Janette Oke got me back to reading after not reading for so long. I wanted to meet a mountie).

5. When did you know you wanted to be an author?
I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was in the third grade. That’s about the time I realized it was better to write my fictional stories down rather than tell them to people who might think they were true.

6. How did you go about becoming an author?
I gathered my courage and sent a proposal for a manuscript directly to an editor at Love Inspired Historical. Thankfully, it piqued her interest enough to ask to see more.

7. If you were not a writer what would you like to be?
I really don’t know. It’s hard to imagine not writing.

8. Outside reading and writing what do you like to do?
I am all about the Arts. I love singing, dancing, watching movies, and going to museums. I also love spending time with my friends and family. Oh, and eating chocolate in as many forms as possible. J

9. Do you have a place you love to visit or would love to visit?
I really want to go to America’s national parks especially Yellowstone, Yosemite, and The Grand Canyon. Eventually, I’d also like to go to Italy. (I want to visit some of America's National parts also, Shiloh is one I want to go to).

10. If you could have a meal with 3 living people who would you choose and why?
1) My sister because she lives half way across the country and I don’t get to see her that often. 2) Senator Marco Rubio because as a Speech Communications major I grew to appreciate his talent for oration and the clear ideas he has for America. 3) My future husband wherever he is. It’s about time the two of us met. Don’t you think so, Lord?  (I like your style with number 3.)

Noelle's latest is The Runaway Bride. Don't you just love the cover.

The only husband Lorelei Wilkins ever wanted was Sean O’Brien, but she’s wasted too much time waiting for him to love her back. When another man proposes, she accepts—until she stands at the altar…and realizes she can’t marry without love. Bolting out of town toward a fresh start, she never suspected her parents would send Sheriff O’Brien to bring her home!
After an innocent mistake leaves Lorelei and her reluctant rescuer with compromised reputations, marriage is their only option. But first they must triumph over suspicious locals, shady characters, an inconvenient groom and the bride’s own stubborn heart. Will it take putting their lives on the line for Sean and Lorelei to realize that only love can conquer all?
