In Remembrance of my friend Sharon

This week I have been thinking about a friend and decided to do a google search to see if I could find any information on her. We had lost contact a couple of years ago as I couldn't find her phone number and the last letter didn't make it to her. What I found as a shock. My friend passed away in Dec last year. She has left behind her husband of over 15 years and 3 children who are now around 15 down to 12.
I wanted to take the time to pay tribute to my friend Sharon and tell you a little about her.

We first meet about 27 years ago at the cricket, another friend who knew her from school saw her at the cricket and we became friends then. Over the years when I would go to the city to watch cricket Sharon, myself and 2 other friends would go watch the net practice the day or so before the tests and one dayers and get autographs and take photos. We would sit together at the cricket and had lots of fun. I have some fun memories from those days and some fun stories I could tell. They were fun days.

In winter I use to stay with Sharon and we would go and watch my team North Adelaide play her team Norward in SANFL it didn't matter who's team won we had a great time. I also went to 2 grand finals with her.

When she went overseas to England for a year I went down for the weekend to help with the farewell BBQ and also when she returned I went to help with the welcome home BBQ.

I went to Sharon's wedding and she made a beautiful bride. It was a lovely wedding. I would visit on trips to the city or phone and had the pleasure of meeting each of her children.

I will miss Sharon even though we hadn't talked for a couple of years I still though about her alot. One thing I have learnt from this is to try harder to stay in contact with my friends.

Jen, so sorry about your friend. Even though we may not stay in contact with friends over the years, it's still an odd feeling when they pass away.

aww, how sad! But, at least you got to be in each other's lives! I know when I don't stay in contact with friends I feel bad when I find out things haven't gone particularly well with them or whatever. What a great tribute to your friend!

Oh, Ausjenny, I just read this part of your blog. I'm sorry about your friend. You're right -- it is a reminder to all of us to keep in touch with our friends.
