A Soldier's Promise by Cheryl Wyatt

I have just finished this book and loved it. I finished at almost 1am cos I just couldn't put the book down.
8 year old boy Bradley has cancer and 2 wishes, to see a Pararescue jumper and to have a family of his own.
Bradley's teacher Amber Stanton writes to the dream crops on his behalf and we see pararescue jumper Joel Montgomery return to his childhood home Refuge, a town with memories he wants to forget. Amber is in the midst of trying to adopt Bradley to give him the family he longs for.
Through Bradley a bond develops between Joel and Amber. It is interesting watching how the bond develops with several humorous incidents.
I have to say the mention of Cricket during part of the book really impressed me as I am a cricket fanatic.
I would give this book 5 out of 5 and I cant wait for the second in the series.

Thanks for your awesome review, Jen!

When I went to India on a humanitarian and media mission after the tsunami, I brought a Cricket bat back. Couldn't carry it on the plane of course..but it made it back to the states.

I wish Cricket was more prominant here in the US.

Glad you liked the book. Your readership is a blessing.

Hope you enjoy Manny's story in March.

Warmly,

Cheryl Wyatt

Thanks Cheryl.
I am happy to meet someone who understands a bit about cricket. Its a great game and it would be great if it was more prominant in the US.
I cant wait for the next book.
